Life right now continues to be about adjusting to Seattle. The dogs are loving it here, Avu is working away and I’m figuring out what my daily and weekly routines are going to look like. I’m already fully embracing my new neck of the woods — we went on a rainy but beautiful hiking trip last weekend (and the pups LOVED the mud). I have a friend visiting in a few weeks so that should give me another excuse to do some exploring and let my inner tourist out. 😎
How is the new year kicking off for everyone? It’s the beginning of March, which means it’s just around that time when a lot of new year’s resolutions fall to the wayside. It’s cold, it’s likely raining, and let’s be honest, life is busy and inconvenient a lot of the times. It’s easy to say, ‘I’ll get to it later’, or ‘I’ll refocus next month’. But the truth is, and we all know it, that putting off self-care efforts, and putting off those good habit building commitments we made to ourselves only gets harder the longer we let it go on. So let’s challenge ourselves to be present, to stick to our goals, and to embrace each and every day for the beautiful gift that it is.
Speaking of goals…
My Health Goals
This year began with a new home and new chapter for me, and I’m hoping to use that as a springboard for a healthier, more intentional lifestyle. CLICK HERE to read my health goals for the year.
Doing anything fun this weekend?! Let me know below or on instagram with the hashtag #eatthinklive. I’d love to hear from you!
For now, I’ll just leave you with this little reminder from Pearl to make sure you stop and smell the roses today!
More ways to make the most of today…
- Volunteer! Clean up a park, play with shelter animals, serve lunch to people in need. The opportunities are endless. Start searching HERE.
- Do an at home facial (post to come soon with recipes, tips and tricks).
- Get moving! There are running clubs, and races happening all over the country, all of the time. Many of them are free or cheap to join, and a lot of them donate the money raised to awesome causes. Plus, it’s just one more incentive to get off the couch and outside, closer to your health goals. Active.com is your go-to resource.
- Plan a trip (or at least day dream about one). Start here with Travel and Leisure’s ‘Best Cities for Winter Travel’ and ‘Most Affordable Winter Vacations in the U.S.’
